Selection Process:

The selection for the posts will be on the basis of performance of the screened-in candidates in the interview. The prescribed essential qualifications are the minimum and mere possession of the same does not entitle applicants to be called for Interview / Trade test/written test. Written test will be conducted for PS-1 & SRF posts and trade test will be conducted for TA & FA posts, prior to the interview.

Educational Qualification:

Project Scientist III:

Master’s Degree in Environmental Science/ Marine Science / Marine Biology/Zoology/Mechanical Engineering/ Technology or equivalent from a recognized University / Institute with at least first class not less than 60% marks. Minimum 7 years experience in relevant field.

Project Scientist-II:

Master’s Degree in Geology / Applied Geology/ Marine Sciences / Marine Studies/Ocean science & Technology/Geo informatics / Geomatics / Remote Sensing/Disaster management/Oceanography/ Marine Science / Mathematics / Physics / Ocean Science & Technology/Microbiology/Life Sciences/Marine Science/Marine Chemistry/ Chemical Oceanography /Environmental Sciences/Marine Science/Marine Chemistry/ Chemical Oceanography/Environmental Sciences or equivalent from a recognized University / Institute with at least first class not less than 60% marks. Minimum three years research experience (OR)
B.E / B.Tech in Geomatics/Geo informatics/ Remote Sensing / Civil or equivalent from a recognized University /Institute with at least first class not less than 60% marks. OR Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent from a recognized University/ Institute with at least first class not less than 60% marks. Minimum three years research experience. OR
B.E/B.Tech in Computer Science/ Information Technology or equivalent from a recognized University / Institute with at least first class not less than 60% marks. Three years R&D experience. OR B.E./B.Tech in Electrical/ Electronics / Communication / Instrumentation or equivalent from a recognized University / Institute with at least first class not less than 60% marks. Minimum three years experience.

Project Scientist–I:

B.E / B.Tech in Civil Engineering or equivalent from a recognized University / Institute with at least first class not less than 60% marks. OR Master’s Degree in Geology / Applied Geology/Marine Sciences / Marine Studies/Geoinformatics / Geomatics / Remote Sensing/Oceanography / Marine Sciences/Physics/Mathematics/Marine Biology/Zoology/Life Sciences /Marine Biology/Biology/ Zoology/Computer Science / Computer Applications or equivalent from a recognized University /Institute with at least first class not less than 60% marks OR
B.E / B.Tech in Geomatics / Geoinformatics/ Remote Sensing / Civil/Computer Science / Information Technology/Electrical/ Electronics / Communication / Instrumentation or equivalent from a recognized University / Institute with at least first class not less than 60% marks. OR B.Tech. in Environmental Engineering/Biotechnology or equivalent from a recognized University / Institute with at least first class 60% marks or equivalent grade.

SRF:

Master’s Degree in Marine Science/Marine Chemistry/Chemical Oceanography / Analytical Chemistry/Microbiology/Life Sciences/Zoology/Marine Biology or equivalent from a recognized University/Institute with 60% marks or equivalent grade. NET/CSIR-UGC NET/GATE qualification with two years of research experience in the analysis of chemical oceanographic parameters.

Technical Assistant:

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from a recognized University.

Field Assistant:

Degree in science or diploma in engineering or equivalent from a recognized University / Institute.
